In roughly 300 years Voyager will reach what is known as the " Oort Cloud". In another 30,000 years it will have flown beyond it. Amazing.

That's assuming it doesn't get into a space accident. There's a lot of debris out there. I wonder how long its batteries can last?

For scientific purposes it will transmit 4-5 more years? As for intestellar space it will travel forever. In intersteller space there is only gases and radiation so there should be no debris collisions causing a stop at the body shop. Now that you mention it debris orbiting the earth itself is a hazard. One of the space shuttles got a cracked windshield from a fleck of paint. The closing rate of a shuttle , space station etc with debris is about 50,000 mph or about 15 miles per second.

Well, there is always the potential for debris racing away from a star going nova to impact a tiny thing like Voyager 2. On the other hand some space craft coming out of warp drive could collide with it. LOL.
