True story. I never saw the movie until about ten years ago when our daughter rented it.

I havent seen it since I was a child. I dont remember much. But what I do remember is that I loved it, and it was heartwarming.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

I've watched it a few times. It's one of my favorite movies.

Thank you for reminding me of ET.
It was so filled with positive messages in a manner of presentation that children of any age could relate to. At around age 9-10 children typically gain an awareness of life in the manner that finality is a part of life and that life is not only a piece of that but the actual reason it exists. Everyone processes things in a different manner. I think the fact of ET not being a cartoon character that dies repeatedly was crucial to the younger viewers as it gave them a threshold moment in the emotional realm to experience either heartbreak or euphoria
By extension the development of the complex emotions that evolve
Into love etc. By age 16-17 we are for the most part who we will.always be. IMO the development of ones moral obligations or lack thereof is where what is right in a person is mostly found. Within that sector lives beauty of ones soul.

ET, love you. Everybody.is a star

I haven't seen it in forever. Thanks. I would've teared up but I've already moved into *ichigan hate mode.

Nice to see they did it right by getting Henry Thomas to reprise 'Elliott'.

I didn't watch this. I enjoyed that movie at the time, but like most of Speilberg's work, I like it all less as I get older. This flick was a milestone expression of the mindset that has been dismantling Christian Faith for the last 30 years.

    Bah humbug.

You made a lot of sense this day. May I ask wth was wrong with you? Don't let it happen again. If you make sense very often you'll get to". Remember the old standby answers in case you are caught by SURPRISE ( gotcha lol). Lady asked me " sir may I ask you what time it is". I answered " of course I fed the dog this morning". That was a very odd response because I dont have a dog. Geez crazy woman.

Believing in the possibility of aliens is "dismantling [the] Christian Faith"? I can't wait to hear your explanation for that claim.
