Iran close to collasping like venezuela

an’s Central Bank announced Wednesday that the nation would rename the national currency, the rial, as the “toman” and “delete four zeros” from its value. The move follows months of intense American sanctions on Iran’s oil industry and mimics a similar move to bolster the bolívar currency in Venezuela.
“The council of ministers, at a meeting presided by President Hassan Rouhani this morning, approved the central bank’s proposed bill to change the national currency from the rial to the toman and delete four zeros,” the Iranian Islamic regime said in a media statement, according to the government news outlet PressTV. As the reevaluation of the currency must pass through the dictatorship’s rubber-stamp legislature, it will not be confirmed until a final vote in the Iranian parliament.
PressTV admitted the plan to remove the zeros, an attempt to strengthen the currency’s value, “found traction after the national currency lost more than 60 percent of its value in 2018,” after the United States withdrew from the international nuclear deal with Tehran. The outlet blamed Washington for sending the rial into a “tailspin” and prices of basic goods in the country “through the roof.”

Is that something to be proud of? We did this to them through our act of war like sanctions. We are doing that to several nations around the world. We certainly wouldn't like it if the rest of the world did that to us. We are actually causing real terror around the globe with our war machine, and we aren't being sanctioned.

Iran is (was) one of the most stable countries in the Middle East, and most Liberal with their religion, people can worship as they please, and even walk in public without head gear if they choose. Women are not discriminated against.

We cancelled our Nuclear peace deal with them, and they still followed it for years. It is plain and simple we are up to no good when it comes to Iran. What we are doing to Iran, and other nations via sanctions, is not something to be proud of or brag about. We are causing mass human suffering around the globe. This is not making peace in any way. We are just accumulating enemies destabilizing the security of the world. We are breeding terrorism through these actions. For every person we unjustly bomb or starve to death, or make lose everything. We create a mortal enemy and endanger our own nation, and the world. It is a simple calculation. I doesn't take much to see it.
We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

Women are still second class citizens in Iran, but that's not the biggest reason we sanction them -- Iran is the world's leading state sponsor of terrorism.

The leading sponsor or terrorism is Saudi Arabia. We have our hand in the cookie jar too. Who do you think created, Isis, the Taliban, al-Qaeda, Al Nusra, Al Shabab? The list goes on. https://www.jacobinmag.com/2017/05/i...aeda-juan-cole What's really funny is how we are business and genocide partners with SA and are feeding them weapons knowing they are funneling into the hands of Al-Qaeda.

I really wish that Iran would abandon its state sponsorship of terrorism, recognize Israel's right to exist and join the community of nations. I think Iran would be a great trading partner. It's culture is phenomenal. It's people are warm and welcoming. The world would be a better place.

But but but......PJL assured us Iran's economy isn't on the verge of collapse. That US sanctions didn't do really cause Iran any problems.

Iran's economy was doing poorly prior to sanctions. But the sanctions, US and UN, may push them over the edge if they are not already there.

Iran is not as strict as Saudi Arabia but they are still highly repressive. They do their executions publicly and you can find them on YouTube. And it isn't really stable. There is a decades long rebel movement operating there.

I agree that SA has been the leading cause of terror but that changed after 9-11. Not that it matters because the various Sunni Jihadists are able to operate independently of a nation-state. I think the Sunni Jihadists are the greatest danger to the West (and to Russia, btw).

Iran sponsors Shiite terror groups that are primarily a threat to Israel and Jews world-wide. Iran's Republican Guard also has elite units that act globally and one of the most effective intelligence agency in the world.

    Both are threats.
