She could have said nothing--like trump would have done under the same circumstances--however she realized she was wrong after having said it and expressed her regrets.

An expert witness in Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee impeachment hearing riffed on the name of the president’s teen son, Barron — drawing a swift and forceful rebuke from the Trump campaign.

“Contrary to what President Trump has said, Article 2 [of the Constitution] does not give him the power to do anything he wants,” testified Pamela Karlan, a professor at Stanford Law School. “The Constitution says there can be no titles of nobility, so while the president can name his son Barron, he can’t make him a baron.”


The wisecrack drew a strongly-worded clapback from Trump’s 2020 campaign.


“Only in the minds of crazed liberals is it funny to drag a 13-year-old child into the impeachment nonsense,” read a statement from campaign spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany. “Pamela Karlan thought she was being clever and going for laughs, but she instead reinforced for all Americans that Democrats have no boundaries when it comes to their hatred of everything related to President Trump.”

A true statement that some right wing snowflakes took offense at. Now trump will become "outraged" thus bolstering the anger of his low IQ followers, and they in turn will forget how many times trump has attacked the families of his opponents.

Meh....it wasn't the end of the world. And is probably being overplayed by some on the Right.

But it was sort of a cheap shot. And it sounded somewhat pre-planned. Dunno.

One issue/problem is that (i think) the Democrats had hoped that these law professors would convey the image of objective scholars. Providing a semi-neutral summary of why Trump's actions rose to level of impeachable offenses. But it just didn't come across that way. Was more the impression of coached cherry picked "expert witnesses" like what we might see in a television court room drama series.

Don't believe a whole lot of minds are being changed by this political theater.

The country is watching this. The presidential campaign season is going to begin with the Democrats having to live down these outrages.

That idiot who attacked the President's son has just cost some Democrat a House seat.

If this was a super majority of bi-partisan condemnation it would make sense. But this is a case of Do Nothing Democrats putting on a show for their white knight donor George Soros. Unless the Democrats impeach George will cut them off. He's still pissed at Hillary for wasting all the money he gave her and losing. George Soros is a bad guy. All of America should know this, and who this piece of garbage is and the influence he has over the Dems.
