Oh but Peter.....given you and Ethereal's boasts of such vast first hand experience, you two often reminding us all of how smart you are......I do have faith in your understanding of foreign affairs and geopolitics. And....despite your goal post move from "sophisticated weapons systems" to "lethal force equipment", that faith I've given you two I'm in consternation over. Cause you two......are actually f'n proposing that Syrian Kurds be given sophisticated US anti-armor and anti-aircraft weapons systems. That proposal changes the balance of power and won't be tolerated by either Iranian or Syrian forces nor supported by the Iraqi government. It would be a destabilizing proposal to the entire region, in fact, the proposal borders on sheer madness and stout irresponsibility.

I do have faith in your knowledge...and that of Ethereal. Thus asking straight up, what in the entire fck, that's one of the stupidest proposals I've seen made on these geopolitical pages....like f'n...wow.

Whenever and wherever there is a minority group in a resource rich , or geopolitically strategic country , the US is there to exploit them. When the objectives have been reached , they dump them. The Kurds are just the latest example. This behavior is the worst human rights abuse of all.

How so? The US saved the Kurds from ISIL. Do you desire a US - Turkish war? If so why?

That depends on your point of view......I would say that the Kurds , to some degree saved the US. The US is trying hard to salvage the relationship with Turkey , because without Turkey , their influence in the Middle East would be further eroded........and Erdogan is well aware of it........it's the old tangled web , woven in the practice of deception , that is slowly falling apart. The Kurds have recently improved their relationship with the Syrian government , and although they still walk both sides of the fence , will not allow themselves to be shafted by the US a second time. They have learned from recent experience that survival , even without complete autonomy is preferable to the risk of devastation.

Yes they are......but they are a long way from being a US vassal , and put their own interests far above that of US interests.( as all Nato members should)

Actually the exact opposite of correct.....proven by this latest proposal of madness that would destabilize this region even further, torch off a larger conflict.....a proposal no nation nor government in the region supports, in fact, vehemently opposes. And yet, you and Ethereal leading the charge to give the Syrian Kurds, not just lethal force equipment that you'd like to back pedal to......but sophisticated anti-armor and anti-aircraft weapons systems.

When you two consistently boast of such experience, such first hand knowledge.

Yeah.....you are so awesome Pete....you get it so correct?

    You cannot make this up.
