There is a sizable AOC Constituency for the Left. Her Green Deal was not only endorsed but co-sponsored in a bill with Presidential contenders Warren, Booker, Harris, and I think Kirsten Gillibrand. There is a sizable and very influential far left wing within the Democrat Party, its' platform has shifted to the far left as a result.

Biden and Beto on the lead.....but the 'AOC' cult nears 35% in the Dem Party, hardly a special interest Biden should ignore. As I have a Gentlemen's bet that Sleepy Joe will win his Primary, I'd like to see him wake up. Or....did he make that statement to convince voters the far left hasn't hijacked the Party.
Biden is about as moderate as Obama, (probably the most leftist president in history). His ideas are FAR to the left of the American mainstream. And the guy is senile. He can't keep anything straight in his head.

And now he has this Ukraine baggage hanging over his head. He'll be lucky to scrape a nomination victory away from either Warren or Doomberg. And Doomberg has a butt load of money to spend.

Biden has spent the last 50 years of his life being a politician in DC. Our Founding Fathers considered public service a duty, a sacrifice, of persons time in life, not a career. FDR warned against public sector unions, that such would feed upon itself.
