The pickpocket analogy is not appropriate. What the Democrats are claiming happened is extortion. Now, how do you extort something from somebody if the alleged victim doesn't feel threatened?

Two points about that.
First, you cannot rely on what Zelensky says. OF COURSE Zelensky will *never* say anything to piss off his benefactor. He will not dare to challenge him or contradict him. He does not want to risk losing the money. What would you say if you were Zelensky?

Second, Morrison and Sondland both testified under oath that Sondland had told Yermak that quid pro quo was necessary to get the aid
