what, pray tell, is a board of “equalization”?

It sounds like a scheme designed to punish the successful and redistribute their earnings to the unsuccessful. You know, make things equal.

There is something fundamentally wrong if we have a government agency at any level going after flea markets. What's next ? Yard and garage sales?

Those ugly Californians came thousands of miles to audit me and collect income taxes from me and my business partner because I go to see our customers there. Then they came again to collect sales tax even though the purchasers of our products self-pay them. We then had to have all our customers go back years and prove they paid them before we could send the woman packing.

I ve thousand of miles away and they are still chasing me. I cannot imagine living there.
