I suspect that the Patriots knew this was coming and released him and kept it quiet. Supposedly the drug tests were conducted while he was still with the Patriots.

This shouldn't be a big blow to the Seahawks as he was only with them for a few weeks and wasn't used much at all. He had just a few catches. One was a spectacular catch against Carolina.

Gordon's career in the NFL is likely over. He's had several chances and continues to screw up. That's too bad because he's one of the most talented players at his position. I have no sympathy for the guy.
    Tsk tsk , Gordon.

It was both illegal drugs and PED's. Obviously this guy couldn't overcome his weakness.

These things move very slowly. Im sure the test samples were taken while he was with the Pats. He wasn't a steady part of the Seahawks offense, but he did have some very important drive sustaining catches. Still, he's not going to be missed.

I heard an interview with one of Seattle's assistants and he said that they were all hoping that Gordon could make it through the season, but they weren't surprised that he didn't.

Addiction is not a weakness. It's an illness with a behavioral component. And I don't think things have top move that slowly with today's technology.

I agree, but being drafted by the Browns is an issue likely to compound any problems a player might already be having. Imagine that you think you are going to the Pros. You are excited and pumped and looking forward to the excitement, the atmosphere, the adoration, the coolness of it all.. Then it hits you you are going to the Browns which is the exact opposite of all that.

The Browns have a rabid and loyal fan base. The atmosphere there on game day is as exciting as any.

At one time under the ownership of Ken Berhing and coaching of Tom Flores, no player wanted to go to Seattle. Now there are players who request to be traded to Seattle. The same thing can happen in Cleveland with new management.

The Browns are a poorly run or coached team. That can change.

It's a weakness. It can be overcome. It's not an illness or disease. We have redefined it as an illness or disease in order to relieve people of being held responsible for their actions.
