    You are 100% correct. Risk is something that has to be understood, managed and spread. An employee with ESOP as retirement is in what we call a " "texas spread". There are many forms of a " texas spread". Especially in a commodity where say a distributor is loaded with inventory in unleaded gas then goes long the futures too. Or a cotton farmer is long on the board and has it in the field also. My 3 favorite words are "del a gate" to someone who can do it for you. Situational awareness comes in many forms, as you well know
