Other coaching jobs aside. I think the Redskins owner will frustrate Rivera and force him out before long.

Belichick and Reid grew up as coaches in the NFL. College is a different thing. Colleges have players for two to four years, then they move on.

NFL coaches typically last for several years. Coaches like Holmgren, Carroll, Reid, etc. That’s why Jim Harbaugh isn’t a good NFL coach. After a couple of years NFL players get tired of his $#@!.

The only thing I see that Ron did badly in Carolina was that lop sided one man offense and maybe he didn't have that many chances. I also heard it said that McCaffrey didn't like taking a break. I like that the player feels that way but he's a player and Ron was the coach. Also the Panthers were either exposed in their blowout loss to the 49ers in week 7 or they quit.
Having said all that i think River boat Ron should bring his gambling style to the Skins.

That means he was 61-62 for the rest.

    Why hire him?

All that was wrong with the Browns this year was a coach who would call a draw play on 4 and 9. Oh, they did have one. They kept the wrong coach.

The Browns management is horrible. They are actually depending on a baseball talent scout living in California to lead their search for a new coach. That’s just freaking dumb. I doubt that a quality coach with solid credentials would want that job.

I remember when they hired Mike Holmgren for a high level position. After a season he walked away saying that it was a lost cause.
