Uber and Lyft drivers are suckers. They will make a little money and then find out they have a dead car without any savings to replace it. They would have retained more at McDonalds. Before I bought my business I used to help small manufacturing companies in trouble. The biggest mistakes they always made was thinking their cost was just labor and material. They forget the cost of replacing tooling, machines and other wear parts and then end up making bad parts or reworking them. They spiral downward to their demise and find out their product was just cheap and unwanted at the higher price.
Commercial and residential remodeling for 30 years plus.
Insurance
Blades need to be replaced
Some jobs required specialty tools
Fuel to and from the job
Profit
then, there's taxes.
Get a remodeling job? Everyone's hand is out before the first check is cut to me.
Then, there is also the government agencies. EPA, OSHA, FDA (commercial building with coolers and cook stations).
I did win one over OSHA once. They came on a private residential job. I ran them off. They have no authority on private jobs. That duty belongs to the Building Department in their respective counties/states. Never, ever, had an issue with them.
I'd never drive a cab or deliver pizzas. Too any regulations.
