Creativity and things I have noticed

I can have an idea and if I choose to use the net to nourish it different things happen. If I use speech search my mind temporarily sort of goes blank and the idea wanes. If I use my hands and type in a search its 50/50. If I simply begin by looking at say paintings or pics to embellish an idea it seems to roll me backwards and then brings me back to the visual stimuli in a series of stages. Sometimes its silly, sometimes just fun. But..I have noticed if my mind goes off track in the aforementioned flow to something serious it makes me feel mostly down and sometimes very sad. I do believe we are born Tabula rasa and I am wondering if there is a connect from our very earliest intellectual workings to this. I say this now because after a few days of speech search my creative side is zero, blank. Anyone ?

As I ponder the possible connection from how we emerge and fill in the blank state of tabula rasa it is very serious food for thought. Do our skills we employ as infants become the dominant ones throughout our lives? I say this because when I speech search my mind goes blank for a few seconds and then the urge to create wanes. Interestingly enough when I was a young snotnose my speech was a weak spot. As I began school i knew all my states and capitals in 2nd grade so I had some intellect. During school my mind wandered , I was so bored and still cant stand to listen to say a lecture. In high school I just did what I wanted or needed to because I had an awesome blank report card scheme so yes to my grades. But, in college I excelled. I became a very serious note taker. I rarely looked at them because I learned it taking the notes. I found some old college notes the other day. My handwriting was great. Now it looks almost like some half palatable abstract cursive art.

I was going to avoid what research says and take my own notes. But, I was too curious. This fool ( not me the one in the link ) seems to think tabula rasa and how we develop ideas, skills etc is " absurd". Then he basically contradicts himself ( told ya hes a fool). But..very interesting to me was he used " song" and studies of songbirds. Tge stimuli/ response in my mind to music has a very strong positive correlation. Some from my environment growing up around music maybe? The rest from genetics? My father was strong in music, my younger sis began playing piano by ear at about age 5. My older sis is also a very talented musician. Im a trumpet player but compared to those 3 im a hack. However, I was the by far the most creative. Its as though the things excelled at were different but still within the music genre'. BTW, I never suspected for one second this could tie in to music. Thats why I purposely left it out of my OP. Now we are circling back the psychology of the " nature vs nurture" argument. For sake of brevity on this post i will put my link on the following post.

Role of Innate Knowledge in Song Development
The view of the brain as a tabula rasa, a blank slate, all too long a basis for the thinking of learning theorists, is patently absurd. Whatever the task, every brain brings to bear a set of neurally based predispositions, each with its own evolutionary and experiential history, about how to proceed most efficiently in dealing with a given set of learning problems. Some of these predispositions are generic and pan-specific, and others are highly singular and even species specific, as with the innate processes that the human infant

Some are generic, such as the widely shared tendency of songbirds to sing tonal sounds, evident even when they render imitations of sounds that were not originally strictly tonal (Nowicki et al., 1992). Others are species specific. When sparrows learn to sing, they favor conspecific song. They do so on the basis of not a single ethological sign stimulus but a range of song features. Naive young birds, recently fledged, are highly discriminating with regard to the song stimuli they find most potent, as revealed by their tendency to give more begging calls to them in response to playback (Nelson and Marler, 1993). By playing

The internet, in it's current form, is a rabbit hole that will sometimes provide the information you seek, but more often attempt to sell you things they think you want.

My bookmarkers are full of places I've gone that actually provide information/inspiration, usually found on the 5th or 6th page of a search, because true info sites don't usually pay for search placement.

The internet used to be fun, a place to find facts and research. Not to say I don't occasionally shop, but it's tiring to kick out all the advertising when you just want a small piece of hard to find info.
