A movie that is "classic" to the individual. I started with newer movies but was actually watching one of my favorite older movies from 1961 "Mad Dog Coll" at the time. Its also a fav of mine

For me, personally, a classic movie is one that if I'm channel-surfing around, and I come to it, regardless of where in the film I come in, I'm compelled to watch it to the end, even though I might have watched it a hundred times.

Age/vintage, for me, has very little if anything to do with it. The Grapes of Wrath is a classic, of course, or Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, but when I first saw Oblivion, a 2013 sci-fi movie with Tom Cruise, I felt that it was, in the sci-fi genre at least, an instant classic.

Most males would agree at some level that " Fight Club" is a classic, even though tis only 20 years old. Many never understood that Tyler Durden was Ed Nortons alter ego.

Theres no trailer of the film that I can find, its about an old fisherman in a rowboat with a handline, doesnt even have a pole (spencer tracy) who catchs a HUGE sailfish bigger than his rowboat and fights it for days his hands raw from the friction of the rope. Finally the fish tires and he ties it to the side of his rowboat, he was bring ing it back to the town he would be a hero and renowned. Sharks attacked the fish, he fought them with an oar and lost and the fish was just some bones by the time he finally got back. The town didnt believe him and laughed at his story.

My favorite movie I cant even remember the name.

Spencer Tracy played a priest, there was a landslide pre cursing a volcano eruption, a school for orphans full of kids got trapped and couldnt get down. Tracy was the priest who ran it and was in town. He tried to find people to help get the kids but he couldnt find any that would. So he enlisted 4 prisoners, Frank Sinatra being one.
They went up and got the kids down, a black prisoner I dont remember his name was the real hero, He got under a falling walk bridge and had to use his back to brace it so the kids and nuns could get over. Tracy stayed with him for moral support the kids got over the man collapsed and both her and tracy were stuck there to die.

Great movie if anyone knows the name let me know plz

When I was a young kid this movie just captivated me....The trailer doesnt show it but Joe was actually a hero and a real sweetheart that they captured and caged.
He saved a little girl from a burning orphanage in the movie. To most of you younger folks the movie will look cartoonish, but it was the bomb back then
