    What’s your style?

In your home, what’s your style? Minimalist, early American, contemporary, Art Deco, European or mid century modern?Personally I’m a mix of contemporary and mid century modern.

Depends on the room. I love antiques and have the beatifulist kitchen table from the 1800s. My husband he decorated the living room. Complete opposite.

It started out as modern colonial - the house is almost 18 years old now - and we have the traditional layout of parlor to the left, dining to the right as you enter, and then the kitchen and living room to the back on the main floor. We remodeled the kitchen area a couple of years ago and incorporated some Tuscan style -- it works -- but it wasn't something I would originally have considered. We added the little exterior building at the back left a couple of years ago as well, mostly because we'd been storing a hand-carved travertine fireplace surround that we'd had shipped from Syria years ago. We kind of did a wattle-and-daub look in there, so kind of Old World there. It definitely hasn't stayed pure modern colonial. LOL But, it doesn't clash, either.

I'm with you on the no painted wood. No particle board either.

Early Flintstone. Stone and rough hewn log furniture. Maybe a little more Vikingish (Is that a word) than Neanderthal.
