I see Australians use it as a spread, but it's probably an acquired taste. Not much call for it in the US, nutritional yeast is high in folate just as Vegemite is, so I think I'd use it as an ingredient where soy sauce is used. Nutritional yeast and soy sauce are often used together because of the flavor the two create. For example, I make a vegetarian gravy using both that is very much like turkey gravy. Just my opinion, but that's the way I'd use the stuff. I think I might order some and see what I think about it.
    Thank you for the suggestion

I met an online Aussie"friend" IRL, he brought me what he referred to as an "Aussie survival pack" it consisted of a "wife beater" style shirt, a pair of flip-flops, and a jar of vegimite. I took him on a "booze cruise" it was the highlight of his US experience... just sayin'

Oh, and I have the vegimite on display, not for consumption.

Vegemite and Marmite appear to be the same.
    I buy Marmite.
I toast a ciabatta roll and butter both sides, then add a thin spread of marmite with a slice of swiss cheese on top.
Delicious, but it's probably an acquired taste and I have used it for more years than I care to remember.
It's salty but goes well with the cheese. I only take it on half of the roll with something else on the other.
Walmart in Canada sell Marmite so I guess they do also in US.
