Safety, could you re-phrase your premise here, please? I have read your OP several times and skimmed the cited threads - previously unread by me - and I honestly don't know what you're saying here.

I think it depends pretty much entirely on what your "actions" are, and it also depends on the context of those actions.

In terms of voting, if I vote for Candidate A because I think people who belong to his or her race are smarter, better, more honest, etc., than people of the race that Candidate B belongs to - yeah, I think that's racist.

However, if I vote for Candidate A, not because I think he belongs to a "better" race - but just because I believe that in terms of U.S. history it it past time that a member of that race assumed the office, and it's something that I really want to see in my lifetime, you might consider that to be less than responsible - but I don't believe you can legitimately term it to be a case of "racism". Similarly, if one votes for that candidate simply because you think it would be cool to have someone of that race in that office, you might consider that to be a shallow view and, again, less than responsible - but as it doesn't entail a belief that any race is superior or inferior to another, I don't see how a charge of "racism" has any validity.

I can't disagree with you on their being many alternative factors but when it happens repeatedly then you see a pattern. I live in a state where the Democrat Party is black. They will vote for the black candidate even if he is up on legal charges and never campaigns (they did that). Meanwhile the white GOP put Tim Scott back into the Senate.

Sure. Ever since I joined tPF, the reoccurring theme was that blacks were racist for voting 94% for Obama. So we fast forward 6 years and the democratic candidate field showed Biden receiving more support from blacks than any other candidate, even when there were two blacks in the race that never got the support from blacks that they would have needed to stay in the running.

I think it's funny how so many that ascribed blacks being racist for voting for Obama, now are trying to point out that the democratic field is completely filled with white people. I mean, I tried to show then how wrong conservative hacks were to suggest such a thing, but it took six years for them to get it.

The answer is quite simple. If the ONLY reason they voted for Obama was because he was Black, then yes, they were racist, because the put skin color first and foremost.

If they voted for Obama because they liked his platform and supported the ideas he put forth, then no, it was not racist.

I suppose somewhere, there are stats on how many people were first time voters, and who they voted for. It would clarify the answer.

When I was a deputy sheriff, my partner and best friend was a black guy. We'd talk politics. He was fairly conservative and I asked him why he voted for Democrats. Seriously, his answer was "I'm black". He did laugh whi,ecsaying it though.

People see what they want to see. I learned that I was a racist when I voted for McCain. MSNBC and CNN talking heads told me so.
