Conor opened up with a missed left hand, they immediately clinched up. Conor through some shoulder strikes that appeared to hurt Cowboy. Off the break Conor landed a big head kick and then followed up with some strong shots on the ground and that was all she wrote.

Yep. If not for that opening half minute, I think Cerrone wanted it on the ground asap.

Cowboy showed up to collect his check. Didn't look like he wanted to be in there, didn't even throw one strike. Conor looked good though, legs, arms, and shoulders looked a lot bigger, I'm assuming he bulked up to stay at Welterweight. I don't know how that's going to work for him, there are a lot of large elite wrestlers in that division like Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, and Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal has been knocking out guys right and left. It's a nice moment for Conor but I'm not sure where he goes from here, he'd likely get dominated again by Khabib at Lightweight and I don't see him beating any of the top 5 in the Welterweight division.

In discussions before the fight, I reminded people that Mac's left is much more devastating at 145 than it is at 170. I don't know if Mac wants to make that cut anymore?

Waste of everyone's time. Conor performed admirably vs Floyd for someone with zero formal pro boxing experience, but he was outclassed easily and would be again.

Everyone wants to fight Mac, because of the gate. I don't see him winning any of those fights, though.

Ferguson gets Khabib next. Let's not curse it another time! Usman would beat Mac in the first round. Khabib will beat him whenever he wants to. Masvidal would be an interesting fight. Maybe the longest of the three.

He might not want to cut anymore. He looked noticeably bigger in this fight. He might be at WW to stay, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Not gonna be easy beating Usman, Covington, Edwards, Woodley, Masvidal, Dos Anjos, Thompson, etc. Much tougher division for him

You just brought up something I hadn't considered. If Tony Ferguson beats Khabib, Conor is probably going to want that fight.

If Khabib beats Ferguson, I see it being Ferguson/McGregor next. If Ferguson wins against Khabib, then we see the Conor rematch unless the title fight with Ferguson was a barn burner worthy of a rematch.

Dana is such a s l u t. Gone are the days of a rematch after a title fight. He goes where the money is, and damn the fans.

Agree 100%. I could see him cutting to 155, though. My point was that he dominated at 145 with that power left. If he were offered the belt at 145, he'd make the cut.

But...Dana hates those who don't stick around in the division to defend.

No doubt McGregor going up to fight at 170 may make a difference. And Cowboy is like 37...old for a fighter.

But don't count Cowboy out. I know all the money is on Connor. But, like Diaz, Cowboy is lanky. Can kick. Can wrestle....that is McGregor's weakness in my opinion, Diaz choked him out.

The Posse wants to gather and watch....worth it? Cause I think Cowboy could win!

And that is correct, not easy and thus the money fight with Conor being 31 must happen. And that is the Khabib rematch. You don't give him the chance of losing to a true Welterweight, White smart to pencil in Khabib regardless of the Ferguson fight that I believe Khabib wins.
