Greatest NFL Draft Class of All Time

With Donnie Shell headed to HOF is the Steelers Draft Class of 1974 the greatest draft in the history of sports?

Sure there is the Baker Mayfield/Denzel Ward Cleveland Browns draft of a couple of years ago, but I think Steelers 74 edges even that out.

Lambert was the first member of the Class of ‘74 to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, gaining entrance in 1990. Webster joined in ‘97, followed by Swann in 2001 and Stallworth in ‘02. It took 18 years for Shell to round out the class and give the ’70s Steelers a double-digit representation in Canton.

    Lol.

2012. Seattle got Russell Wilson in the third round. Greatest draft pick of all time.

Baker Mayfield greatest #1 overall pick in history of NFL? My guess is there might be Browns fans that think so.

I don't believe anyone would think that. Primarily because at best he's a mediocre player.

Ok I have to give you fair warning. There are people that think that. Perhaps even one of our Mods...hint @DGUtley. If he sees your comment he might try to give you life time ban from the forum. He is irrational Browns fan

That doesn't mean he thinks Mayfield was one of the greatest draft picks of call time. One would need to be an idiot to believe that.

No. Picking Bill Russell in 1956. 8 consecutive titles and 12 overall. Hard to beat that and the 74 Steelers don't.

Hard to tell as the age of the designed althlete is now entering football. Kids raised to play in the pros has long been an aspect of tennis and of course among the most famous cases of all is Tiger. But look at all the sports academies, special quarterback private coaches and even quaterback families like the Mannings. I've pretty sure Cooper is in fact one of those private QB coaches and I have heard that R. Wilson actually travels with aPT and some other professional. In Russell's defense I don't know what they look like.
The days of Jim Thorpe are over. Hell we have one sport HS kids here in hicksville where practically no one will even get a division one ride much less play in the pros.
