Why does the Navy use camo? Someone stupid makes uniform choices is my guess.

You can't go to your job. You have no communications. Your supermarket will be stripped and food becomes very expensive and a follow up military takeover would leave you at their mercy. Do you even have a green house or a garden? Seeds? Guns? Ammo? Enough Beer?
I'm not telling everyone to be a survivalist China and Russia are looking above the Earth for control and the ability to disable the US. We need to be prepared. We would have to be able to shut them down and their satellites as well or start practicing their languages.
The RAF was funny too- in 1910.

I expect that the Marines use camo.

Right, if an enemy had the high orbitals they could bomb us to dust with impunity. We could do nothing to defend ourselves.

The EMP Commission, which has met several times since ~2000 have concluded that if our entire grid was destroyed 90% of Americans would be dead within 1 year.

We need to modernize our grid and get reasonable control over the space around earth.

They do. So do the Navy Seals, and the support troops that help get them to their infiltration points. I don't see the point for sailors of ships.

It is a bit confusing when you are referring to the Space Force, like sailors of ships. Even if grounded, in the absence of invading aliens, why might they need camo?

I do not think that they need camo for what they are doing.

I would think that dark navy or black fatigues would look snappier but would look faded in short order, so I would expect that light blue or gray would be practical.

I have not had problems with darker fatigues fading.
