And the FISA court said that at least two of the Carter Page FISA warrants were illegal. I suspect all 4 were. Heads need to roll or the FISA court ought to be disbandment.
Read the rest of the article.The Justice Department secretly acknowledged last month that it had “insufficient predication” to continue monitoring a former Trump campaign adviser during the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, according to records made public Thursday — a notable admission likely to fuel continued criticism over how the bureau handled the high-profile case.
The concession was revealed in an order posted on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court’s website.
In December, according to the order, the department told the court it had come to believe that in at least two of the four applications to monitor the former adviser, Carter Page, “there was insufficient predication to establish probable cause” to believe he was acting as a Russian agent.
The department obtained the problematic warrants in 2017. Itacknowledged wrongdoing only after the Justice Department inspector general alleged last month that FBI agents “failed to meet the basic obligation” to ensure the applications to surveil Page were “scrupulously accurate.” The inspector general had declined to speculate whether Justice Department leaders and court officials would have approved the warrants if they had been given completely accurate information.
One of the illegal actions was a DoJ attorney changing a 503 on Mike Flynn which said he was not deceptive, to he was.
Another was a DoJ attorney who was told by the CIA that Page was their asset and that attorney hid that information from the FISA court (he has been referred for criminal prosecution).
These acts lead to the special prosecutor and to the Impeachment. So we see all of this was based on lies. Hopefully the President's lawyers lay this timeline out.
As I and others have said, this was never an investigation. It was never an impeachment. It is and has been a soft coup. Coup plotters and supporters need to be seized, arrested, and held for trial. Where prosecutors request the maximum penalties possible.
