    The poor man’s EMP nuke

    The poor man’s EMP nuke

This article is a great over view of the dangers of EMPs. Man made and natural. Both can be a civilization killer. The EMP Commission has stated that a major EMP events could result in a 90% kill rate of the American population within the first year.

This article also brings up other dangers. More localized EMP events using such devices as camera flashes and Tesla coils.

It is a long article but well worth a read.

We're pretty dug in here. I finally got my wood burner hooked up in the garage, so I've got heat with only a minimum of effort. I've got a fairly constant supply of fresh water and the high ground.
I've found that the seal-a-meal has more than one use. I sterilize old torn-up tee's and stash them in a seal a meal bag while they are still hot. Any portable first aid can be sealed against the environment. Including meds.
Dry socks stay dry in a seal a meal. (Nothing feels better on wet feet than a pair of dry socks) Fire starting kits with strike anywhere matches, tinder (frayed hemp twine), and few dried out twigs, sealed and weather proof.
Seal-a-meal is the greatest creative vehicle invention evvvvvvvvvvverrrrrrrrrrrr. It seals more than food.
