The Democratic Party is an opposition party. Unfortunately, they are in opposition to the People. Every chance they get, the Democratic Party establishment fights to overrule the will of the People in any way they can manage. In their 2016 primaries, that meant an aggressive superdelegate system wherein party officials could determine the majority of delegates awarded to a primary candidate before any votes were even cast, as they did in New Hampshire where Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton by a margin of 60-37 but ended up with only 1 more delegate than she did. Colorado was another example, Hillary beat Bernie by only 1.4% but ended up with 21 more delegates than he did.
Now, the Democratic Party is pulling this charade again. The complete debacle that was the 2020 Iowa caucus is rolling to the end of its third day and they've still only released about 80% of the results. The more results come out, the more people have been challenging their accuracy, to the point that even Joe Biden's campaign has questioned the results, and the Iowa Democratic Party has already had to make more corrections due to inaccuracy. There was clear video of some of the caucus rooms where one caucus worker flipped a coin to determine whether Bernie or Pete Buttigieg received delegates, and he could be clearly seen flipping the coin to Buttigieg's side after it clearly landed on Bernie's. Mike Bloomberg's entire existence in the 2020 primary has been clearly designed to try and force a brokered convention so the Party establishment can force their preferred candidate (either Bloomberg or Buttigieg at this point) in, now that Bernie has been pulling ahead in most of the races.
Democratic Party leaders love to make a good show of being on your side, like Pelosi's cutesy tearing up of Trump's speech at the conclusion of last night's SOTU, but behind those TV-ready displays is a complete and total lack of any actual substance. The Democratic Party doesn't give two $#@!s about the People, they only care about maintaining power.
