    The guy had a long rap sheet. He was in prison for attempted murder and shooting at police but got out early because of Cuomos early release board. Then he was arrested and released again after this.

    Personally I think that was a classless move. The NYPD is "declaring war" against it's mayor? I mean what does that mean? The NYPD is not a military branch nor is it diverse from the legislative branch of the city.

    What kind of cop who has sworn to serve and protect declare war on an elected official?

    I pretty much agree, the union guy has let his head get a bit big I think. The other Police unions have not come out in support of it either.
