    At WalMart today....

I put this under US Politics because i thought it was a general reflection of a certain TONE.

OK, I am getting some paper towels in that section of Walmart and as i am getting them a young lady, obviously a teenager, wheels up this big roll cart and starts pricing and putting up paper towels in the aisle I am in.

An older male co-worker says hello to her, and she says Hi back, but the she says, " I hate my job" as she is pricing and putting up the merchandise.

I said, " that's OK, most people hate their job, but are there for the paycheck and not much more". Her older male co-workers said something along that same line.

Then she says, yeah, but I also hate CAPITALISM and the trap I am caught in.

I say to myself, yeah, kid, wait till you start making some serious money, then you will love it, but kept quiet.

I did say, " you know what I hate about CAPITALISM the most....commercials. You can't get away from them and they follow you 24/7 to the grave".

Then made a little small talk and went away.

    MY POINT:

When i was a kid her age and working, politics and discussing economic systems was the furthest thing from my mind.
The fact this kid is cussing the only economic system that actually generates money, tells me she has a lot to learn, but is in store for some really self-induced hard knocks in her life because of it.

I also have no doubt she got her attitude on-line in some chat room or forum.
When it is not allowed to be questioned, it is not science, it is PROPAGANDA

They all think the world owes them a living and socialism is the answer to that.

My closest friends grandson is in college, he has changed dramatically in one full year of college. Hes in his second, hes not only gotten $#@!y and overbearing and acts like he knows everything, hes become a bit disrespectful.

I know the kid since hes a toddler and we got along great but the last time I saw him he turned me off

Education today doesn't focus on learning the basics but learning grievances. It's a postmodern world.

People of whom are actually educated will tell you the learning begins AFTER college.
...but he will learn that soon enough.

...and the rest of the world also knows those with Psychology and Business Admin majors are the ones who flounder around and can not make up their mind what they want to be when they grow up. Those two majors are the catch-alls for the flounderers. They are also mostly gone by first-year mid-terms.

Every time I ask a college kid what their major is, and they say, Psychology or Business Admin, I reply back, " So you have not decided yet, then".

She is equating Capitalism with working. She has been told or thinks that Socialism means she wouldn't have to work at Walmart. Obviously she is more than wrong. Socialism/Communism doesn't mean you don't work. Just the opposite. But that isn't what Communists or Socialists want to portray. They prefer to portray the Utopian ideal. It's a myth. It's been proven not to work but it's Utopian so it remains attractive.

This is why I did not get into a debate with the kid. She had a job to do, and I needed to get paper towels and other crap.

Other crap the capitalist dogs force me to buy to keep them in their rich capitalistic lifestyle riding on the backs of the oppressed workers of America.

A B.S. in psychology is worthless unless accompanied by a degree in education. A B.S. in Business Admin will get you a job in just about any field you want in this job market. It's a general degree that is far more valuable than a degree in say History or English Lit.

With that said the B.S. is all you need to get a job these days. It doesn't matter what it's in...just that you've achieved it...

The B.S. is America's high school diploma. Without it and you're exploring a trade skill. With it and you're in the club.

Pretty much. Our youth is slowly but surely being told that the basic necessities in life should be provided for them just as their parents provided them.

The parents are the problem when it comes down to it. Never requiring an understanding that what is being provided to them comes with hard work and determination. Nor a requirement to "pay" for what they are receiving in the form of things like chores or a minimum wage job. Minimum wage jobs have transformed from being the domain of the teenager to the domain of the adult supporting a family of 5.

Slow transition to Socialism. It's an unstoppable force. It will be in this country just as it is in Europe. It's unfortunate.

I have no argument with that.
THOSE THAT FINISH their B S in Business Admin will do fine.
Few starting it ever finish it.
This is what I have seen.

Look through any job posting and a lot of management positions only require a BA or BS in something.
It means you can stick with it and take it to its conclusion and not quit.

There are literally millions of people with SOME college.
Finishing it is what separates the wheat from the chaff.

I also know college is not for everyone.
After grade school, middle school, and high school, asking someone to give another four or six years could be a problem.
Some need a break from academics to get out and stretch their legs, unless there is a family tradition of going there.

I have also know some who never left the campus.
Graduated, then became a TA, then kept going till they had their MA, then started teaching.
A more oblivious person you will never meet.

    It is stoppable.
    Individual determination stops it individually.
If someone chooses to be a lazy ass, then fine, but they will only have so much and nothing more.
Those that DO want and have more get it through their own individual efforts.

...but you are right, most are pretty lazy and do not go that route.

I saw that among the homeless in Ft. Lauderdale.
They treated their $618 a month award like it was the golden calf.
It dropped down from the sky upon them as manna from heaven.
