Fox News reported earlier today that DOJ was blindsided by the formal recommendation from operatives tapped by former Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Stone be sentenced to up to nine years in prison. A source told Fox that the sentence recommendation was “extreme, excessive, and grossly disproportionate” to Stone’s crimes

“The Department was shocked to see the sentencing recommendation in the filing in the Stone case last night,” the DOJ official reportedly told Fox. “The sentencing recommendation was not what had been briefed to the Department.”.....snip~

Disgruntled former Mueller prosecutors misled DOJ and bullied the new U.S. attorney in D.C. into recommending up to 9 years in prison for Roger Stone.

Do you shiver because of the prosecutorial misconduct or because a political enemy won't die in jail?

Theres more details to this situation than just a criminal justice decision, first one of the 4 prosecutors is a muellers legal investigator, one is an obama appointee, I dont know about the other two.

Here is what changes the situation for me, stone got caught up in the original coup to get trump. WE KNOW that Comey, Brennan, Clapper and Lynch created the entire basis for the investigation, which in itself was a coup to deny trump the presidency, then to remove him before he finished his term.

There was the use of a Fraudelent Dossier to "ILLEGALLY" obtain a warrant then convict Carter Paige and the same for Manafort.

Why in the world would a potus that had been illegally set upon and had those he chose for his administration "SETUP" allow Stone to be crucified as their last hope of martyrdom

Too many circumstances surrounding this entire issue with stone to allow him to be pummeled

Again, the politicization of the justice department is very disturbing. I haven't read about this particular situation. I am uncomfortable with Trump inserting his nose into individual prosecutorial situations. I think his remedy is a pardon or clemency.

You are on the wrong side of justice, Dave.

You are also wrong politically. AG Barr and President Trump are ensuring justice.

I am rarely on the wrong side of justice. It's true, though, reasonable people can reasonably disagree. I don't recall taking a political position on this. You hire people, you let them do their jobs. It was their jobs to make the recommendations. He will pardon them day one after the election.
