LoL, my posts are always wordy.
WHO says no need to wear mask. Virus is airborne. The Gates & John Hopkins did an exercise for a coronavirus pandemic in October. WHO says vitamin C bad for you. Wuhan cremating so many bodies the SO2 levels are off the charts. No worries everything is fine. No wear mask, no worry.

Ok, but there are also people recovering... If we believe China's reports - something very hard to do - there are 1523+ deaths, but there are also 8096+ recoveries. There are only 3 deaths outside of China -and hopefully it will stay that way? Even though, not everybody infected is dying. At this moment, affected individuals with chronic medical conditions are at a highest risk of developing atypical pneumonia, organ failure, and other complications leading to death. The virus genome has been published in GenBank since early January, so there are many researchers and laboratories around the world looking into this. There is a race to formulate an effective vaccine and a continued search for a conclusive treatment since up until now, they are throwing everything in the box to this virus from Tamiflu to a previously developed Ebola virus treatment that has proven effective even with the potential of serious side effects. These testing treatments are being administered for compassionate use. In deed, Remdesivir was administered to the first COVID-19 case in DC with successful results.

They wore them back in 1918, mask. I remember the stories my grandma told about this. Remember I am a grandma now. Not only were we in a war, this came fast. People were caught off guard and the media downplayed it. Most died because of lack of medicine and hospitals full. Many rode around in horse and buggy too. Some recovered and some were buried on their own land. People who didn't get it, many brought food and dropped it off on porches of peoples houses. Many places closed down and not allowed to congregate.

So horrific. I think people don't realize the seriousness of this. If it shut down China it is no joke. Now that China has ordered a stop to the sale of basic medications many more will die. In your grandmothers scenario it was because they didn't have it, now it will be because the gov withheld it. You have to wonder what the true motives are. Your sad post made me think of this tweet. https://twitter.com/BoboBichonFrise/...64350177841152

If it does happen here watch out for vipers trying to sell you stuff. I hear Jim Bakker a false preacher was trying to promote a drink on his show claming it was a cure. Just be causious, wear protective clothing, just like I did walking into a room where TB was.

According to the CDC and WHO the incubation period is from 2 to 14 days. The few cases for a higher incubation are questionable.
There is nothing particularly unusual about the lack of pediatric cases of infection, that is typically seen in other viral infections.
The symptoms are often much milder in children because the immune system responds faster.
