Yup. There is a clear institutional bias in favor of police as a class which serves to protect massive abuses by bad police officers. Some members are struggling to make the distinction between that position and "all cops are bad".

Because the courts and the police are on the same side: the government.

And it's natural for institutions to be biased in favor of its own members.

There are bad police officers, they dont last long they show their ass very quickly and get fired or indicted.

Then there are good cops that do bad things, and there are good cops that make bad mistakes and errors in judgement.

There are good cops that make bad mistakes and then make the mistake far worse by trying to cover it up out of fear of termination or even indictment.

Its easy to read a news article and form opinions that are just bogus and not factual, people critique an incident that they read in a newspaper and make false assumptions because they and no one else knows what happened, how it happened or the mentality and emotions that combined caused the event. That does not make the final result "JUSTIFIED" nor does it remove the responsibility from the officer[s] involved. He could very well be a good man, a good person and good police officer that just royally Fd up and made the worst error of his lifetime. Like I said that doesnt change the end result, his culpability and the resulting action.

People think or believe they understand what being a Police Officer is, all I can say is no you dont.

Im not even going to get into an explanation of that statement it would be too long to read.

Police Officers that break the law, commit crimes, make aggregious errors doing their job that result in harm to others must pay the price and if they attempt to cover it up and lie, pay a bigger price.

Just remember my first statement because it is the truth.

There are Bad Police Officers, thankfully they are few.

There are good Police Officers and good men that do a bad thing.

There are good Police Officers that make a bad decision, make an aggregious error but they are good men and women, good people and making the mistake doesnt change that.

In all instances they should be disciplined appropriately within in the law.

They usually don’t, but if you want to believe it’s the norm you’ve got a right to hold your opinions.
