I grew up on a farm .
Food was a big deal. We disnt have a lot of money but we ate well.
Lots of deer squirrel rabbit grouse quail and pheasant.
We raised our own chickens beef and pigs for both consumption and sale same with eggs home made butter and cheeses.
We had big gardens veggies of types aspargas cabbage peppers and corn were my favorite.
Beans and cornbread were ate regulary.
No one came to the house that wasnt offered a meal even if they were just stopping by such as a salesman .
Today i eat things I never could due to price .
But things like potatos and cabbage broqn beans and cornbread pork and sauerkraut greens with oil and vinegarhome made slumgullion are still a staple in my diet.
