We are all brothers and sisters in humanity. We are all made from the same dust of stars. We cannot be separated because all life is interconnected.

I believe Joni put it perfectly:

Thus is the nature of message boards. Having disparate political beliefs is one thing. Having absolutely no desire to have intelligent discussion over those beliefs is another.
Rather than find a modicum of common ground and work forward from there, most just opt to drag the lies and fabrications they found on myriad biased sites. It's more of a game than a sharing of thoughts.
This forum seems to have quite a few adults, as opposed to some sites that have more younger people who are clearly clueless.
Not sure if older clueless is better than younger clueless? For me, message boards are like looking for a needle in a haystack. If you keep searching, you might just find a hint of intelligence.
You really do have to do quite a bit of searching, though.

I am new here but this is a political forum. I tried another forum but am not active because those on the left were not allowed to speak and i do not want an echo chamber. Private Pickle is annoying in his nonsense answers that are made to dominate threads with retorts and take the subject off on ridiculous tangents.
Politics is about the future and history is about the past. We are all picking our politics to choose the best path for the future. there is no doubt in my mind that we have a few professionals here that are not speaking what they feel. We also have some excessive polarization caused by the pundits and things may be said beyond what people needed or wanted to say.
I am too new to know "Jim" but I can bet that he was a polarizing person if Tahuyaman did not see any open thoughts in his comments.
I am sure that I am considered right wing but:
1) I believe in God, but I am not a fan of any established religion and see them as a power hungry groups of men.
2) I see abortion as decided by the point of HUMAN life not the creation of a cell so I am in the 12-30 week club.
3) I am not against government support for health care if you absolutely cannot afford it but see that as a buy in to medicaid based on your ability to pay. That puts 85% of us back to employer insurance and hands off by government. BTW. It is Medicaid for all not Medicare. Medicare is not government funded insurance not welfare.
4) I am not for government involvement in foreign wars without a dang good reason.
5) I am against Trumps policies that make others pay for personal choices including the decision to raise a family.
I believe there are enough people in the US to form any group they want.
See the Christian groups that create their own self-insurance and dramatically lower costs. Democrats can do the same exact thing. The deciet that they need everyone to be forced to join them is the problem.
Green policies are what Republicans always wanted. We supported the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts. The US is reducing Green House Gases every year and has been. The Green looby is a Anti-American lobby. When you make it somewhere else then you guarantee more global pollution not less.
