Chinese companies are very good at stealing patented inventions but the patent for the US is still held by a UK company

    https://patents.justia.com/assignee/...ight-institute
    https://www.pirbright.ac.uk/our-scie.../coronaviruses

I don't know if this has anything to do with the information that bulletbob has on a Canadian company.
It appears to be from a variation of the bird flu created in research.

Imagine the effect of this virus in N. Korea which swears it has no cases. I might even end up a casualty. Scary stuff.

So far I have heard it was from a snake, a bird, bat and the insinuation that it was taken out of the lab directly as a specimen. Since it is a version of the Avian flu then wouldn't it make more sense that it was a chicken (That last commercial victim of the Avian Flu) that escaped and was captured or contaminated other animals it came in contact.
China is not going to test it on itself unless it wanted to target an isolated area like Taiwan.

Or maybe it was just a natural mutation.

I'll stay out of any area called Chinatown for now knowing that the largest Asian areas will see the greatest amount of business and family visitors from the Far East.

There are some reports stating that they do believe NK is experiencing an outbreak, but they aren't saying. And look at their neighbor SK. I am a major SK fan. I watch Korean Dramas, and Korean food shows. You know they are a bit different than us. They make a pot of soup and everyone uses their own spoon and eats from the same pot. Just think of the implications that has for the spread of this virus.

There are lots of other cultures that share food like that. That is one thing that we do a bit different here in America. In SK they are already spaying disinfectant on the streets like they are in China. This thing must be highly contagious.

I was in Korea for three years (divided by a decade) and they do have some really good food. And some not so great food.

Their food is different that's for sure. I did end up falling in love with the Kimchi. I love the Korean people. I like their sense of humor and light heartedness the most. I really relate with the mentality of the Korean people.

I also like Kimchi. The people are nice when they are not working. When they are they are asses. They lack what Adam Smith calls the "invisible hand," which I have described on this forum as ethics in capitalism.

I don't really know about that side of them, just the human side. I like that a lot. I am not a fan of how most do business anyways no matter what nation they are from. The Koreans also dislike the unethical capitalism. Look they even got rid of their president, they weren't playing around. The didn't stand for the corruption.
