Wind brings down PGA golf's "Hinkle Tree".

The "Hinkle Tree" story at Inverness Golf Club in Toledo, Ohio, dates back to 1979, when the PGA brought in a small spruce to block a tight space discovered by golf pro Lon Hinkle during the US Open tournament. Hinkle drove his tee shot through an narrow opening in the trees and onto an adjoining fairway to shorten a long Par 5 hole by about 75 yards. He birdied the hole, but the PGA immediately planted the tree.

It appears Hinkle was among the leaders that day, but he faded the next and remained down lower in the pack for the rest of the tournament
