Friday Walmart was in full panic mode. I got what I needed, the usual. Last night I ordered a pickup of things there for 5 pm today, we'll see how that goes.

Actually, I misspoke, I went to Wood's Grocery in Malvern. But I've been to all the stores in Minerva too. That's cool, grocery work is good honest work. I worked at a small mountain grocery in Northern California in the mid 90's for a short period of time. It was fun.

With the one exception of limiting the number of people for meetings, everything is quiet. Stores are being restocked. Walmart is still out of paper goods, but plenty of everything else. Gas is still down. I was set for three months at a minimum as it were.
I did get some extra coffee and the wife bought some extra fruit.
    It was pure mayhem Friday....................

I went to the local grocery store (which happens to be the biggest employer in the town with the exception of the state prison) and the lines were a bit longer then the usual wait, but they had all four checkout lines staffed. No shortages except in the paper isle where toilet and paper towels were in short supply otherwise no discernible shortages to the human eye.

I think as of tomorrow they are going to new hours which translates to shorter hours until the crisis passes however long it takes. Most people seem to be taking it in stride.

I went out today to reconnoiter the situation at my big box grocery store and at a strip mall, where I bought some new boxer shorts on sale, and was quite pleased.

Anyway, I was struck by the holiday-like mood of blacks I encountered at the store. I guess they must have been giddy over black history month. The entrance was manned in order to wipe down grocery cart handles as people entered. That was different. I always wipe down grocery cart handles, so whatever.

The quanitity of bottled water -- the stuff I was there for because I'm running low -- was normal. There were very few bulk packages of toilet paper, but an entire aisle full of "Bounty" paper towels that were on sale for under $20 per bulk pack, whatever the count was. The store brand of both tp and pt were entirely gone. I didn't need any and have never felt compelled by fake democrat hysteria to buy more of anything based on their psychotic rants. That would be crazy. Everything else seemed of normal quantity except the bread, which was gone. That's a lot of bread to be gone from that place because they carry a lot. Due to the humidity here, bread only keeps about 2 weeks max, so stocking up on bread, which is evidently what had happened, doesn't make sense if most of it will soon be thrown out. Birds might scored mightily, however. The thing is, eating a lot of starch when you're ill (Heaven forbid) is not recommended, and this wisdom goes back to way before I was born. They were out of Simple Green (cleaner), but they always are.

And here's something else I couldn't quite wrap my head around -- a young college couple walking around in summer shorts, wearing Florida collegiate shirts and hats, as if they were on vacation. Judging from the large bags they were carrying, they were clothes shopping. I did not know that Florida college kids ever went clothes shopping in Pennsylvania on spring break. I suppose it might be explained if they were actually from PA and attending school in Florida, and they had been sent home by a Florida college because it was indefinitely closed until further notice. They didn't seem at all stressed out about it, that's for sure. May the Force be with you, my children. Interesting.

As I was driving along on my way home, I decided to pass on my fav Chinese food kiosk in the mall soas to avoid possible Corona contact, thoughtlessly opting instead for my fav Italian pizza joint, forgetting that Italy is the No 2 source of Corona about right now.

All in all, the fake democrat hysteria appeared in reality to be a big, fat nothing-burger, like everything else democrats do, albeit they carry on with unabashed righteous authority like they aren't going to hell for all their deplorable misdeeds. (I think they are, but not my call.)

In the last 4 years, democrats have cost us way too many tens or hundreds of billions of dollars. They're like a high maintenance you-know-what just before she gets kicked to the curb for good.

I see a lot of people giving less of $#@! now. Hopefully once the hysteria cools down and people start ignoring the media, things can get back to business as usual. No NBA is starting to piss me off

Wife just back from Safeway - says there are no full gallons of milk to be had, and very little bread. Again, though, I have to wonder how much of the shortage of stuff is attributable to supply line difficulties, rather than hoarding.

My daughter, who does the Uber thing as a sideline to help her budget and needs to wipe down the interior of her vehicle after every ride, asked for help in obtaining cleaning supplies; fortunately my wife has a friend who works as a home healthcare nurse and has a walk-in closet filled with such things and she's giving the wife stuff to pass along.

I hope stocks keep plummeting. I want to buy a lot of them.
