It's not attractive because so many vegans look sickly. Extreme diets are never a good thing.

The only itens my local markets are low on are canned goods, dried pasta and other non-perishables.

I eat vegan foods too, the ones I like.

I think some people can do fine on a vegan diet, so long as they get B vitamins through supplementation.

I think other people cannot do well on a vegan diet.

I think that's true in many cases. It's important to maintain a good balanced diet, taking vitamin supplements as the case may be and exercising on a regular basis. All a good combination for a healthy lifestyle and looks.

With all due respect to your wife, I cannot see how the body can fully function on basically one type of protein. I am very conscious of what I eat, and will indulge occasionally in things that are nothing put sugar and preservatives. I do so knowingly, and that is my choice. But, for the most part the majority of my diet is chicken, eggs, seafood, fish, veggies and fruits, with starchy veggies thrown in for variety. I would have to be desperate to ever eat tofu again. I am willing to try just about anything once, as long as it's not staring at me or trying to crawl off my plate at the time, but several of the substitution foods are not on my menu willingly. Ever.

Sometimes health is the luck of the draw, regardless of diet. I've always eaten relatively healthy, but an autoimmune hit me in my early teens and it's compounded into 3 different autoimmune conditions. My spouse who ate horribly, smoked like a chimney and partook in recreationals, is rarely sick. Go figure.

Nothing is better. No chlorine. No fluorine. I'd say I can almost taste it thinking about it but the opposite was true. No taste at all.

Plenty of vegan meat. I wonder why? LOL The secret is that you have to cook it in hamburger grease with bacon on top.

Same here. This situation has taught me to save it long term.
