A Place Where You Can Get Away With Murder?

I was reading about the two Mormon kids who disappeared and their mom, Lori Vallow, has been arrested because she refuses to tell authorities where they are. It seems the last place the teen girl was seen was in Yellowstone Park and some are speculating she was killed there.

That's just a lead-in to a more interesting story, did you know there's a place in Yellowstone Park where some say you can get away with murder? It's called the "Zone of Death" and the reasoning behind it is covered in the following links.

What say ye, legal experts? Could this actually be true? It seems like an urban tale, but then again...

The easy fix is for the federal government to grant Idaho concurrent jurisdiction to try criminal cases that occur in that part of the park. Many military installations do that, so it can be done.

    That sounds reasonable.

LOL -- it's just odd we have a place like that in the US.

I'm not a legal expert. Were it up to me they'd be hanged after one trial and maybe one review.

We have many @FindersKeepers. One of them is called CHICAGO.
    Hundreds of unsolved murders.
Check out Heyjackass.com for the stats on Chicago. I especially love their " Shot in the ass" meter.

Chicago cooks its stats. One day they had an 8% clearance rate for Homicide, BTW that includes rightous shoots by both citizens and Police and a "clearance" isn't a "conviction" or even a "charged", it only means an offender has been named.

And the next day they were closer to 50%, how is that possible? Well that created out of thin air a new classification for older murders and put them all there.

The reality is the only ones where somebody actually goes to jail are the gimmee's. This isn't the fault of the cops, who work their butts off. Trying to get witness's to show up or even get involved is like pulling teeth. Most of all in the "no snitching" world of Gangster nation.

Plenty of places. Just have to wear the right uniform.
    Tickling censorship with a feather.

Or, for the Kennedys and the Clintons it's wherever they are.
