Nobody really know because there are so many variables. That movie "Contagion" showed a virus that only incubated for a few days and there was no a-symptomatic symptoms from it while with this one it can cook for a few weeks and a lot of people dont have symptoms, or they are so weak they dont bother to report infection. Plus this one can live on surfaces longer, far longer, then the one in the movie. So we might never know the true Ro or at least not for awhile. The guess's are from anywhere from 2 to 5. Anytime you have a novel one thats 2 or higher you have a problem because its probably going to burn thru the population.

I'm no virologist but Ive followed the evolution of the disease and even the experts have had problems figuring this one out. Man it seems like yesterday we had 200 cases with 0 dead and now we have 100,000 and 1,700.

The odds of finding a cop who will actually write this are about 0%. I can just imagine the fireworks when they drive up to gangster nation playing basketball outside on the first nice day of April. Theres 100,000 gang members in Chicago and they dont listen to well even in the best of times.

Wow thats a nice make up figure, especially considering there are only 2.7 m in the city itself and probably 1/2 aren't of voting age or are felons. Even in the entire county of Cook 74% vote Democrat and 20% vote Republican so I'd say your made up number is about as silly as anything you'll read on the Internet, and thats saying a lot. The last Chicago Republican mayor was voted in in 1944 so you might want to re calibrate your numbers. Thats like 76 years ago.
The only places you might find a Republican are the N/W or S/W sides and even there your vote doesnt matter because the Chicago machine wins every election for every office. The rest of the city? You can run daily marathons and never bump into a Republican.

Don't think they won't. Cops have to write tickets. They sit outside gas stations and if you put the car in drive before putting on the seat belt then they give you a ticket even though you never moved the car.

They tailgate kids until they unnerve them into forgetting to put on a blinker or give them some reason to take a look in the car. If they find nothing then the kids get tickets.
As a kid I received tickets for violations for a dirty license plate and another for excessive acceleration. It actually just squealed around the corner because I had a bent tie rod. That was a long time ago so this is not a new event. The IRS is strong in the local police.

There are anti-virals and vaccines for H1N1 regardless of where the numbers end up. We not only dont know where the virus is going to end up, were still not sure where its been. For all you and I know we both have it and are a-symptomatic. Its a very virulent bug. I'm no doctor but Ive never seen anything like it, or heard of anything like it. Even the Spanish flu couldn't survive for so long outside the body or be spread so fast. And 100 years ago you couldn't fly from Wuhan to LA non stop in a 777 after eating your bamboo rat on a stick.

We still dont have enough data but the Ro for this bug is probably around 2, about double for H1N1. And its probably higher then Spanish Flu. America alone in the space of a few days has had its mortality rate double from 2 per million to 5. Italy is at 151 per million. France 31, Netherlands 32, the Swiss 27, Belgium 25...ect These are 1st world countries with good health care. Nobody knows where its at in the 3rd world cause nobody is even bothering to keep count. They are just stacking bodies and ignoring it, I doubt there are to many ventilators in Bangladesh.

I didn't mean N1H1 specifically. Just a similar situation in which a strain of flu is considered very contagious and dangerous.


My point is that we are setting a precedent where your civil liberties and constitutional rights can be suspended at any time for an indefinite amount of time for any reason the government deems necessary.
