For at least a week we have heard rampant complaints from Governors that there is no federal coordination being offered in acquiring and distributing vital bio-war-time resources: PPE, ventilators. Not only are state Governors being forced to engage in bidding wars against each other for life-or-death equipment, but they also have to contend with the federal govt bids from FEMA as well! One governor has reported that the federal government has been directing vendors to cancel already-confirmed orders for his State and redirect to FEMA. The feds should be the only one able to purchase items,but should not be selectively undermining their efforts and without even telling them.


There is also reason to believe that Trump is playing favorites with swing states and politically sympathetic Governors (shocker). Florida, the location of Trump's new official residence and obvious key swing state, recently received 100% of its requested resources, while other states were getting little or none (on the order of 5%)). Trump was recently recorded saying that he doesn’t return calls about virus issues to states that don’t show proper respect.


In another conference call recording we hear a Governor laying out how he is going to run out of the ability to test the next day, and has not been able to acquire more test kits. Trump responds that he hasn’t heard of any such problems and goes on to falsely claim how we have tested more than any other country, and seemed content with leaving it at that. (at the time we ranked 27th as far as number of tests per capita).

So, the fact that states failed to properly prepare is now the fault of the Feds? The Governors and State Legislatures are responsible for their lack of preparedness, not the President or the federal government.

This is ass-backwards. Federalism doesn't mean the central state has absolute power.

States are facing "bidding" wars for medical equipment because they didn't prepare ahead of time. That does not suddenly amend the Constitution to add stockpiling medical equipment to Article 1, section 8, US Constitution.

I also don't have much faith in the accounts outlined in the OP. The "media" and left have been making $#@! up about this Administration for the last 3 years. They have actively either engaged in a soft coup, or cheer-led for it.

SARS-CoV-2 is just the new way to attack the Administration with after each other attempt fissiled out.

This is made up. There is no legal way for FEMA to do this, and to suggest it is to attack the contracting professionals who do not deserved to be used as pawns for crazy political schemes. Think: if a contractor breaches a contract to a state (for whatever reason) that state can sue the contractor for breach of contract and be awarded damages- in something like this, likely significant damages. The state can also disbar the contractor which would end its government contract business.

I just watched governor Cuomo interview on GMA, it was all "orange man bad" and of course Cuomo wasn't asked why HE failed to take the advice of a his states recommendations after the 2009 H1N1 pandemic.
