Trump Jong-Un Fires Intel IG Michael Atkinson

President Trump, the authoritarian and vengeful President, true to form , settled his petty score in a cowardly way and fired yet another civil servant who dared to simply do his duty. Cowardly because he did it late on a Friday night and while we are all pre-occupied with the coronavirus crisis.

Whether or not you are a Trump supporter, you must all see how this is bad for our freedom. We have a classic authoritarian, intolerant of the slightest dissent. Anyone who dares to do anything to hold this president accountable will be punished, anyone who speaks out.
He is trying to scare everyone into unquestioning obedience under pain of death. Or in this case under pain of losing their jobs. This is how Kim Jong-Un or any other authoritarian leader operates. The only difference is the severity of the punishment.

Michael Atkinson, is the IG who properly handled the whistle blower complaint and passed it to Congress.

“Just say the election was corrupt and leave the
rest to me and the Republican congressmen”
    --Donald Trump

Speaking to the Justice Department on Dec. 27, 2020. Conversation memorialized in then-acting Deputy Attorney General Richard Donoghue’s contemporaneous notes.

How could Trump possibly trust Atkinson after what he did?

    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

    I don't think he's confused.

"Also, in the recent FISA review by the OIG the DOJ inspector general specifically identified issues with the “accuracy reviews” conducted by DOJ-NSD chief legal counsel. Who was that former DOJ-NSD chief legal counsel? That would be current ICIG Michael Atkinson…"

I don't think anyone is confused but you. Michael Atkinson deserves to be removed. He seemed to think his job was to support the coup to get rid of Donald Trump.

*Nunes, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, first penned a letter to Atkinson in September, requesting specific documents for investigation. Last month, Nunes sent another letter requesting documents that he claims are “well within this committee’s oversight responsibilities related to the Intelligence Community

House Intelligence Committee Republicans are investigating Atkinson’s “unusual handling" of the whistleblower complaint that formed the basis of President Trump's impeachment.

“The investigation is particularly focused on the guidelines that appeared on a whistleblower complaint submission form that was changed—after the submission of the whistleblower complaint—to eliminate language excluding hearsay information,” Nunes wrote Friday.*

Maybe he didn't properly handle the whistleblower complaint.

Late on a Friday is ‘the Washington way’. ...serves at the pleasure of the President. Ever hear of that?
