Milwaukee usually has 180 polling stations.
Yesterday’s election only had 5 operational stations due to CV-19
That's not a typo. 5 polling stations for a city of 600,000 and people waiting in line for 3,4,5 hours.
Welcome to postapocalyptic Wisconsin, where the successful Republican war against widespread, free and fair elections is over and urban voting is now permitted only under pain of death. In the last election in Wisconsin 51% of the vote went to Democratic candidates. But 64% of the state assembly seats are occupied by Republicans (63/99). This is not a democratic-republic , this is a dystopia where “voting” is a deception.
Republicans know that low voter turnout is the key to their victory. This pandemic is a godsend for the ongoing voter suppression campaign and they would be damned if they were gonna let a little thing like supercharging the exponentially growing CV19 death rate get in the way of winning a state Justice seat.
This is the situation where we should all be able to agree that something is horribly wrong. When most of the population have no realistic hope of voting, and the votes are forced to be counted anyway, this is the time for both sides to revolt. Voting is sacred, isn’t it? Voting is freedom, isn't it? How much worse can the assault on voting get? 5 polling stations out of 180. Rules and rulings that allow this blatant miscarriage of democracy in action should never be respected or obeyed. They should be undermined, resisted, and fought on every possible front, from both political sides.
So, is voting sacred? Or is voter suppression, gerrymandering, and promoting the exponential growth of CV19 perfectly alright?

(edit: The Wisconsin Governor tried to delay the election, but republicans pressed this in court where the conservative majority supreme court voted along party lines to disallow the delay)
Wisconsin's Supreme Court on Monday also overturned an executive order issued by Democratic Gov. Tony Evers only hours earlier after he tried to delay the election until June 9 because of the coronavirus.
