Kushner wants national coronavirus surveillance system

Critics worry about a Patriot Act for health care, raising concerns about patient privacy and civil liberties.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner’s task force has reached out to a range of health technology companies about creating a national coronavirus surveillance system to give the government a near real-time view of where patients are seeking treatment and for what, and whether hospitals can accommodate them, according to four people with knowledge of the discussions.

The proposed national network could help determine which areas of the country can safely relax social-distancing rules and which should remain vigilant. But it would also represent a significant expansion of government use of individual patient data, forcing a new reckoning over privacy limits amid a national crisis.

Well, we know Kushner is not a lawyer.

Patient data is protected PRIVILEGED material. It cannot be released except by a court order.

If you want everyone to have your Social Security number then put it on a government form or website.
If you want everyone to know your income, address, relatives... then put it on a government website
If there is anything you want known then put it on a government website or form

Government is the most inept and inefficient organization known to mankind.

If you use the VA then they have been hacked.
If you are in the military then they have been hacked
If you file taxes then most likely your state has been hacked

The government puts politicians in charge of your security and they do not know what the hell they are doing. A least a few of the private companies know how to secure your information. However when i signed up for emails I always used fake addresses when required and 30 years later those fake addresses are showing up because Yahoo and AOL sold our information. Having been a victim of ID theft 3 different times I really don't want the incompetent government handling my healthcare information.
