    Army developing better Lasers.

Right now they have a road mobile 100 kw system which is useful against drones and blinding incoming threats. Now we are on the thresh hold of a 300 kw system, now that makes it powerful enough to take down cruise missiles and aircraft. https://taskandpurpose.com/military-...r-weapon-power

Eventually we will have 500 kw to 1,000kw miniaturized systems which will revolutionize warfare. Air, Land, and sea.

I keep getting ads for a small 30-watt blue laser that can set things on fire, for $39.95 and free shipping.

I'm tempted. Then I realize that no, even though it looks fun, this a toy I shouldn't have. I'd end up with scorch marks all over the walls.

They aren't just good for zapping stuff. They are also used to inbound missile warhead seekers. All future USN DDG's and FFGs will have, at minimum, a 12 mw capacity. Now since that kind of power generation can only be meant for an advanced Laser weapon, one even more powerful then this army one, it only means we have the weapon planned. Which is good news for our boys and girls on those ships.

I worked at an airport and even those cheap little Chinese made pen lasers are a big problem for airline pilots. Put it in the hands of a moron and a 777 pilot with 400 souls onboard can be easily blinded. If we caught someone doing it they'd be handed over to the FBI and will probably end up in Club Fed for a stretch. I think a lot of people just dont realize how serious it is.
