The point of the thread is its a shame anything had to be settled at all.

The attitude of those who feel as though they must rewrite history is a shame, indeed. They have some sort of idea that they can change the past and at the same time, they really want to shame today's South and the descendants of the Confederacy.

It's not working, of course, as you can see, the Sons of The Confederacy have plans to make an even better tribute to Forrest. That's what's happening here, and other southern history groups are growing as well, rather than shrinking.

In a way, it's kind of a good thing. The descendant groups of the old south had dwindled and were fading away, but the attacks on their ancestors revived them and now they're holding historical events again, their membership is growing and they're teaching their children about the ancestors and their sacrifices.

No one in their right mind can blame today's southern people for what happened more than a century and a half ago, but I said "nobody in their right mind." There are those who are in an odd state of mind who are trying to do just that.

I expect we'll see some beautiful parks and memorials erected as these descendant groups move their memories to more secure places. I'm okay with that -- the history will be well-preserved and the detractors will be rendered impotent. Best of all -- this is still America.

It has backfired on the liberals, imo. Not only do they appear as retards without a true cause but I am honored our statues still pose a threat to those sniveling cowards.
