Ridiculous question. Not everyone from the Antebellum South owned slaves, only about 10 percent did. Furthermore, as @patrickt pointed out the War Between The States was not about slavery but about not allowing the Southern States to go their own way. There was no legislation pending to free the slaves prior to the 13th Amendment. Not wanting to see a war does not mean you wanted to own someone else. That is pure ignorance.
Also the war was not a "Civil War" since the Southern States were not attempting to overthrow the Union, merely to stop being a part of it. There was no intention to change a single law or a single word of the US Constitution, merely to establish their own. A more accurate name for the event is "The War Between the States" because that is exactly what it was. Even "The War of Northern Aggression" is more accurate than Civil War
