The Space Force Receives Its 'Kobayashi Maru' Space-Tracking System

    From Popular Mechanics
    • The Air Force named new software "Kobayashi Maru", designed to monitor man-made objects in space.

    • The program was named after the simulation, a supposedly unwinnable scenario in the Star Trek universe.

    • The software packagee will replace 40-year-old legacy systems and help tie the Space Force into America’s “Five Eyes” allies.....snip~

The Kobayashi Maru is particularly designed to share space data with allies, enhancing “space domain awareness” among all. The Five Eyes alliance, composed of the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand cooperates on various aspects of intelligence, from human intelligence (spies) to space intelligence, with a goal of sharing the information for use against common adversaries. This new system allows other non-American members of the alliance to access American-gathered space data in a streamlined fashion.

The Space Force’s official logo bears a resemblance to the logo of Star Trek’s United Federation of Planets. The Space Force also features a Space Operations Center, or SPOC, which is way too much like “Spock” to be a coincidence.....snip~

We really need to stop sharing tech with other countries. There will come a day that so called allies. Wont be.

I also read something how they are designing low and mid level orbit Sat's that are small, easily replaceable, and have very acute radar land mapping instead of actual optical photography. We are also going to drench earth orbits with cheaper Sat's that will nullify any anti-Sat system and give unprecedented data access to units on terra firma. Interesting this "alliance" just happens to be either close allies or countries with very important ground components due to their locations. Or both.

Another Sat. family being developed for deployment in a year or two will be able to track hypersonic missiles.

Space Force to launch X-37B space plane on secret mission Saturday. Here's how to watch live.....

The Space Force will launch a robotic X-37B space plane on a new secret mission for the U.S. military early Saturday (May 16) and you can watch it live online.

Weather permitting, the X-37B space plane will lift off atop an Atlas V rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida to begin its hush-hush mission in Earth orbit. Liftoff is set for 8:24 a.m. EDT (1224 GMT)

You can watch the X-37B launch live here and on Space.com's homepage beginning at about 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT).

    X-37B's return to space

The upcoming launch will mark the sixth flight of an X-37B space plane (also known as an Orbital Test Vehicle), giving it the designation OTV-6.

The U.S. Air Force and Space Force have two reusable X-37B space planes, both built by Boeing, for classified missions in low-Earth orbit that can last years. The robotic spacecraft resemble miniature versions of NASA's space shuttles and are powered by a solar array. The first X-37B mission launched in April 2010.

Some details are available about the upcoming OTV_6 mission. The flight will carry two NASA experiments to study space radiation and the effects of space exposure on materials and seeds for food, Space Force officials have said.

The spacecraft will also deploy the small FalconSat-8 satellite built by the U.S. Air Force Academy and carry a novel power-beaming experiment built by the Naval Research Laboratory to demonstrate technology to "transform solar power into radio frequency microwave energy which could then be transmitted to the ground," according to a mission description......snip~

We need Sats that are outside the Chinese Web they are creating.
