The blood of our American soldiers. The Taliban is not going to quit. We either have to kill them or accept them. We are not going to change them.
The issue is that they use ordinary Afghans as body armor so the political cost would be very high.

Perhaps it better if the Taliban were to say of America "they're never going to quit." We're going to have to either kill them or accept the fact that we will never rule Afghanistan again. Ever."

We can use drones, special forces, air power, and a secured base in Afghanistan. We can help train Afghan police and security forces and arm the Afghan government.
