I tend to consolidate. 5.56MM because that's what I "grew up with" and 9MM because it's universal. I don't think having a bunch of different calibers is a smart choice. If you're an AK kinda guy then go with the 7.62 across the board. If you're a .45 kinda guy then go with that across the board. At the end of the day you want your backup weapons to have the same caliber as your primary weapon. That way you're not fumbling around with different ammunition.

Or you can store your ammo in a logical pattern so you know what is where. You should be able to properly load mags in pitch dark based on weight and feel.

I just feel that it's unnecessary. While I can break down my ARs blindfolded and that is all cool and stuff the idea that you're loading the right ammo at the right time in the heat of the moment shouldn't be an exercise in expertise neccesarily. It should be a no-brainer. For me and of course this is my personal opinion "keep it simple stupid!".

Everyone, especially with firearms, should stick with their comfort level.

I would not have to reload ammo in the heat of the moment unless I was in a very protracted firefight. That is not a place I would want to be.

Agreed. Hopefully you don't think I'm talking about "reloading" as in actually making new ammo. I'm simply talking about changing magazines and if rioters were to come into my neighborhood and were somewhat motivated in the face of receiving fire then I'm going to need to reload. But the overall simplicity of reducing caliber requirements works for me. All of my Glocks are 9MM. My ARs are obviously 5.56. Those are the weapons I would rely on in the event I have to use them.

Of course I have my hunting rifles and shotguns. Those vary wildly depending on their use case. But their use is specific to their neccessity.

I was talking about reloading rounds into empty mags. I have a tactical vest that I can place mag pouches as I like so I know where everything is based on what I need. Even so, I know by feel and weight which mag goes to which weapon.

Very cool. For me, I have a tactical vest as well, I just like knowing that whatever mag I go for is the right one given I've consolidated my ammunition. To each their own.

Rioters claim they are coming to the burbs. There are generally two types of people in the burbs. Hard left woke people who will be easy pickens. And the un-woke patriots who will make the rioters dead.

A man interviewed on camera during last night’s chaos in Minneapolis warned that rioters are planning on “coming to the suburbs” if they don’t get what they want.
The twin cities were once again rocked by a night of absolute bedlam as more stores were looted and rioters set fire to the 3rd police precinct building, prompting cops to flee the scene.
“It’s real bogus, they gotta hit it right, otherwise this is what’s gonna happen, ain’t nothing left here so when we start coming to the suburbs, when we come to the government center, then what y’all gonna do?” the mask-wearing African American asks.

“You see what I’m saying, so eh that’s just what’s gonna happen, you know – f**k the police,” he adds.

I remember some savage making the same boast during the LA riots. No, you're going to burn your neighborhood down and the economic damage will be so severe that da hood won't recover until you're long dead.

Whoever criticizes capitalism, while approving immigration, whose working class is its first victim, had better shut up. Whoever criticizes immigration, while remaining silent about capitalism, should do the same.

I made the same choices but maybe for a different reason. Both rounds will continue to be available through a crisis.
