West Philadelphia ShopRite Looted For 15 Hours Straight, Owner Says

Note that in many news articles people WANT THE POLICE, how ironic, they are violently rioting and looting all over the country because of Police and on the other hand they want the police to stop it...after many police have been assaulted harmed and some killed....

The owner of a West Philadelphia ShopRite says looters ravaged his store for 15 hours straight, taking whatever they wanted from the pharmacy, liquor department and cash register. Owner Jeff Brown says looters ransacked the ShopRite of Parkside and several other businesses at the ParkWest Town Center on 52nd Street over the weekend.

Many of the businesses were already on financially shaky ground after weeks of COVID-19 closures. They’re now left cleaning up massive damage.

“Those are communities that don’t have a lot of money and need those stores, so the saddest part of this is that this looting has affected people of color the most,” Brown said. “And the lack of police protection in those stores is not right.”

Gov. Tom Wolf visited the store Monday and listened to neighbor concerns.

“We know that the police could not have stopped this but we think it would have been minimized if we had some police presence,” one woman said.

In the end, it’s the community that will feel the long-term effects of the looting.

“Especially the poor elderly people that don’t have bank accounts. This week they received their income. They live check to check and they can’t go to the check-cashing place because it’s vandalized,” said Atiya Turner, with Love is Key Corporation.

In anticipation of the looting, a number of stores have been boarded up. Other businesses weren’t as lucky and now they’ve suffered a complete loss

    YES they could have.

They do not call them " RIOT " shotguns for nothing.
You hit the one rioter, but a few more balls keep going and hit a few more around them.

YES, the police could have very well stopped it.

    ...but they ran away.

Don't think anyone is going to rebuild in that area again either.
If it happened once, it will happen again.
The mayor and police already gave them permission to do so by not doing anything about it in the first place.
When it is not allowed to be questioned, it is not science, it is PROPAGANDA

Do you know that the police "ran away"? Were they ordered to stand down? Were they ever there to begin with?

I doubt the police could do much as they were spread thin. Yes with the use of riot guns and live ammo they could probally stop the looting but the mayors and governors of these democrat citys would have a fit.
The media would go wild .
Now to be honest I think if looters were shot then it would probally result in 2 thing one they would learn not to do such things its not worth their life.
It also might escalate things and the military be called in.

There is no easy answer. But those involved in riots need to be treated like criminals

Looting one store for 15 hours? After four or five hours, what's left to loot? We're the looters practicing social distancing and only letting five at a time inside?

We've stopped them before. Its not rocket science, as long as you back us we can stop them.
