Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire. ― Gustav Mahler
Where did you get this description? I can't locate it anywhere. McMichaels lives on the other side of Jones Road from where this starts and he was directly across from the home under construction according to the first accounts. This path yu lay out would make more sense for the time line but Arbery would have been better off heading for the causeway and he would have known that. Turning back into a loop would have been a real error on his part.
The map was my approximation based on Dial's testimony. You're correct, Arbery started just before Jones and the McMichaels just after, a few doors down. You can see both houses from the security footage from the house on Jones and Satilla.
Dial and the prosecutor seemed to be implying Arbery was trying to get out of the neighborhood but Roddy kept blocking and turning him.

Thanks @Chris. It wasn't the easiest thing to watch due to the video quality and lack of technology but it is pretty obvious that the earlier reports were lacking a great deal of information.
I still have no idea why he would not cut through the yards and make the trucks guess where he was going to pop out. The fat boys were not going to chase him down on foot.
