The irrational lock-downs cost millions of jobs. Starting to restore those jobs is great news, but how many of those small business jobs are lost forever?

Agree. Unfortunately local governments aren't bringing in the revenue and so they have to cut budgets which means cutting state jobs like teachers and police. Some economists are saying they don't anticipate getting below double digits until after labor day. And even then it will be dependent on certain conditions.

Black job increases were around 285,000. A normal month of total job gains under Obama.

Great news. Let's hope things get even better. There will be some permanent impact and things won't be right back to the great situation we had before the pandemic (I wish we had supported payroll more) but a big jump like this one of 2.5 million jobs is certainly encouraging! The economy gained 2.5 million jobs in May, lowering the unemployment rate to 13.3%, the Labor Department said Friday in a employment report.

What were the U-3 and the U-6 numbers? I figured I'd ask the questions conservatives asked every time the job numbers were released under Obama.
“Conscientiously believing that the proper condition of the negro is slavery, or a complete subjection to the white man, and entertaining the belief that the day is not distant when the old Union will be restored with slavery nationally declared to be the proper condition of all of African descent, and in view of the future harmony and progress of all the States of America, I have been induced to issue this address, so that there may be no misunderstanding in the future”
