I have written many nanoessays on issues affecting men in Modern Western Society. In this nanoessay I discuss my own Social Isolation which is partially the result of my Autistic Interest.
Throughout History, in many Societies, different kinds of bigotry have been accepted and viewed as just. In Modern Western Society, men are the only birth group against whom stereotypes and negative generalizations are acceptable. Blaming all men for misdeeds of some, as well as hashtags like #menaretrash and #killallmen are acceptable in MSM and especially on Twitter. Anyone objecting to these generalizations is considered sexist and fragile. Bigotry leads to discrimination -- for instance men accused of Sexual Misconduct lose their careers without any investigation; male victims of Domestic Violence are more likely to be arrested then helped.
Acceptable Bigotry is not new to Human History. Up to about 1960s, White Supremacy was not only accepted, but also openly practiced in most of the World. In India, some castes were subject to severe discrimination and contempt. In Russia up to 1861, serfs were almost slaves.
In many Societies, criticizing acceptable bias makes one an outcast. In USA 2020, anyone who criticizes Misandry is likely to lose his/her career and friends. In USSR 1937, anyone who criticized excesses of Communism lost his/her freedom. During Renaissance, criticizing Catholic Church in a Catholic Nation was very dangerous -- tens of thousands of Heretics were burned at the stake.
The vast majority of people can fit into Society, even if it means accepting Society's bigotry. Most Autistics find it much harder to fit into Society, yet they can avoid violating their Society's strictest rules. Most Autistics can find a neutral interest and stay of politically charged topics. In USSR 1937, a typical Autistic focused on tractor engines. He/she understood that the subject of excesses of Communism should be avoided like touching an electric wire. In USA 2020, a typical Autistic focuses on Computer Science. He/she understands that talking about Discrimination Against Men is like kicking a hornet's nest.
An Autistic whose Autistic Interest consists of pointing to Society's Injustices is in deep trouble. Dissident Autistic has to make a choice of either being himself/herself or fitting into Society. Many Dissident Autistics live a double life. Their Public Persona is that of obedient citizens of bigoted Society. Their persona online or within a close circle of friends is that of Dissidents.
Many Dissidents have written essays on improving Society. Unfortunately, such essays may be pointless as Society is not going to improve for a long time.
Another question is what can be done to improve Dissidents lives in a Society which does not tolerate Dissent. I would be open to suggestions of other people who have suffered for their Unpopular Opinions. In my opinion, we should form Zoom support groups and groups of friends. Not only to discuss Political Issues, but mostly just to discuss our lives and personal problems with like-minded individuals.
